If you’ve decided you are ready to receive cosmetic veneers, it’s an exciting feeling, knowing your smile will change for the better. For some, it builds self-esteem and for others, helps in the workplace with jobs like modeling, acting, and sales. Our office has put veneers on for many reasons. The most important part of receiving veneers is confirming that the dental practice performs the procedure possesses experience, credibility, and a proven track record. Here is the process when it comes to receiving veneers!
Leading up to the Procedure
Leading up to your main appointment, there will be x-rays of your teeth run. We scan them to make sure you don’t have any cavities or surprises down the road. Following the x-rays, you will begin designing your new smile. The next appointment is where you will have your teeth filed down into smaller versions to fit the new teeth. We remove any cavities or decay that remains. It’s important to know, only a veneer can replace a veneer. You can decide how white you want to go and the size of teeth. You’ll receive a trial version of the veneers for a small time to get comfortable with the feeling and confirm it’s a correct match.
Follow up After Receiving Your New Smile
Following the final veneer procedure, it will be a little uncomfortable as your mouth adjusts to the new hardware. From here forward it will be of the utmost importance you maintain good oral health. Your veneers are not bulletproof. Just because they can’t get a cavity doesn’t mean your teeth underneath them can’t. You have a small surface of the tooth left under them. Something as small as a cavity can become detrimental if not treated quickly.
