At Westmoreland Dental, we work hard to stay up to date on the latest and most efficient dental technology. This way, we know our patients are receiving the highest quality of care with extreme precision. This is our dental technology and why we love it!

Our Technology

Cerec Scanner

The Cerec Scanner is the newest technology we have added to our office! Before, we had to make impressions for crowns, bridges, night guards, and more. This machine eliminates the need for impressions. This technology allows the doctor to scan your mouth, and it creates an impression for you. The impression is then sent to the lab and returned to us. This saves time and provides excellent accuracy!

Computers

One addition to each of our rooms is new computers. The reason for doing this is to save you time when you check out. No more waiting at the front desk. It all is done while you’re still in the chair. You can schedule your next appointment, check out, and even watch educational videos about your future procedures. No more wasting time, and you’re on your way before you know it.

Soft Tissue Laser

A soft tissue laser might be recommended to you if you require soft tissue therapies. This laser allows our doctor to treat patients with extreme accuracy and precision. The type of laser Westmoreland utilizes is called an Odyssey Diode soft tissue laser. The way it works is the light vaporizes matter, which delivers a narrow beam. This beam can heal mouth ulcers in a fraction of the time. It also allows our doctor to biopsy suspicious mouth lesions without using a scalpel, leading to less postoperative discomfort.

Laser Cavity Detection

No one likes cavities, but our laser detections make the entire process easier. Dr. Westmoreland uses Diagnodent, which is a laser that detects cavities exceptionally accurately. As a result of the accuracy, the size of the fillings can easily be reduced. This is a non-invasive and painless tool that detects decay that is not yet visible.

Intraoral Cameras

The purpose of our intraoral cameras is to help the doctor magnify images of your teeth. It is a small video camera that displays the images on a monitor or can be printed.

Panoramic X-Ray

When visiting the dentist, it is likely they will require x-rays. The purpose of x-rays is to allow the doctor to see a full image of your teeth and jaw bone. At Westmoreland, we use a panoramic x-ray, which allows a more accurate view of your teeth, therefore, a more precise diagnosis.

Sterilization

One of the most important parts of dentistry is sterilization. It is critical to both the patients and staff to practice proper sterilization methods. Our team is trained on the most up-to-date sterilization methods to keep you safe. Our sterilization center is out in the open for our patients to see.

Loupes

Dental loupes are lightweight glasses that allow the doctor to see your mouth better. They utilize high-resolution magnification telescopes. This results in a more effective and efficient visit.
