As you know, the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is a very serious virus our world is facing today. Each state is asking similar things of their residents, like self quarantining themselves until further notice. The goal of this is to flatten the curve and reduce people to people interactions. At Westmoreland Dental we understand that emergencies happen. We want to make sure our patients know our protocol for this situation. Check it out below.
Westmoreland Dental Group Response To COVID-19
As of right now, our offices are currently closed unless there is a dental emergency. The American Dental Association, The Tennessee Dental Association, the CDC, and the World Health Organization are asking dentists to limit our work hours to ensure the safety of all. As we have stated before, we are still available for dental emergencies. The goal behind this is to keep emergency rooms and hospital beds open for those suffering from other illnesses. Not only that but if dentists can keep their emergency patients out of the hospital, that is one less person who could potentially be exposed to COVID-19.
As a reminder, our office will only treat emergencies through April 13th. If you feel you are suffering from a detrimental dental issue, please call our office. We truly care about our patients and therefore we ARE available for emergency care. If you are an active patient, and you are in pain or have a similar emergency, please leave a message and Dr. Westmoreland or Dr. Fuchs will call you back within the hour.
Your care and safety is our top priority. If you are feeling any of the symptoms below, please contact your primary doctor or call the Tennessee COVID-19 hotline at (877-857-2945).
- Cough
- fever
- tiredness
- difficulty breathing
- loss of smell or taste
